1.  Sport Specific Rehabilitation
ISC is equipped to deal with acute, chronic, pre and post surgical sports injuries.  We provide care for all athletes who participate in all sports including football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, tennis, and soccer.  Our goal is to not only focus on full recovery of the injured body part, but to incorporate sports specific movements into the rehabilitation programs to prevent deconditioning.  Once the athlete has recovered enough to return to sport and continue sport specific training, we are able to expand our practices to the 68’s Inside Sports Warehouse to provide a more thorough approach to patient care.

2.  Spine Stabilization Program
We take pride at ISC in providing up to date, comprehensive spine care.  Through our experiences we have found that improved recruitment and neuromuscular control of the deep trunk musculature is essential to a healthy spine.  Prescribing specific exercises and manual techniques to assist in the strengthening of these muscles is paramount in our treatment plans.  Once the patient has adequate control of the muscles required to stabilize the trunk we will quickly integrate them into functional movements to further stabilize and protect the spine.
In addition to spinal stabilization, education and correction of poor body mechanics and posture are essential to a successful therapy program.  The staff at ISC has experience treating many spinal disorders including herniated discs, spinal instability, spondylolisthesis, facet dysfunction, DJD/DDD, and whiplash.

3.  ISC Injury Recovery Series
At ISC, we have developed a post rehab recovery program for individuals who have undergone ACL Reconstruction and Rotator Cuff Repairs.  Often due to insurance limitations patients are unable to complete therapy for injuries requiring several months of rehabilitation.  Our Injury Recovery Series allows patients to continue therapy under direct supervision from the physical therapist for a minimal fee.  Patients receive a formal evaluation to determine functional deficits so an exercise program can be established.  The recovery program is designed to meet the patient’s goals, and return the patient to their previous level of function.  The exercise program incorporates plyometrics, speed and agility, strengthening, balance and proprioception, and sport specific training.

4. Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic therapy is a great alternative to land based rehabilitation.  We are fortunate to have access to 68’s Inside Sports 25 yd heated lap pool.  The physical properties of the water are used to assist in the healing and functional performance of an injured body part, while minimizing the stress placed on the body.  These properties include:
Buoyancy - allows patients to perform ground based exercises in the pool reducing the weight on the body.
Viscosity - allows the patient to perform resisted movements in the water.  This facilitates muscle strengthening without weights and the detrimental affects of joint compression.
Hydrostatic pressure - helps reduce swelling and improves proprioception to injured joints.
Injuries that benefit from Aquatic Therapy:

Sports Injuries
Overuse Injuries
Osteoarthritis
Post Surgical shoulder, lumbar spine, hip, knee, ankle

Total joint replacements
Strains, Sprains, and Fractures
Low back and neck pain
Postural education
Joint Pain

5.  Functional Training
When performing daily activities and sports skills the body reacts to the ground and the ever changing environment.  In doing so the body works as a whole unit to adapt to its surroundings, not as isolated parts.  Our therapeutic approach takes this concept of whole body function into consideration and is applied to our rehabilitation programs.  Each therapeutic activity is designed to work specific muscle groups through various, ground-based movement patterns.  To aid in our development of functional strength, a Kinesis™ studio is attached to the therapy gym.  Kinesis™ is an innovative cable and pulley system developed by Techno Gym. This equipment allows patients to perform safe, closed chain, multi planar movements to mimic the functional environment.

6. Gait Analysis/Orthotics
Improper body mechanics and an abnormal gait pattern can be detrimental to the body causing ankle, knee, hip, and/or low back pain.  Our Gait Analysis studio is equipped with two treadmills and a video analysis system, which allows us to breakdown an individual’s gait pattern, and diagnose mechanical faults.
In addition to gait analysis, we offer custom orthotics at ISC.  Orthotics are used to provide symmetry to the body and promote appropriate lower extremity biomechanics.  With a state of the art foot scan we are able to take an image of an individual’s footprint during gait and determine if the patient will benefit from custom orthotics.

7. Kinesio® Taping (www.kinesiotaping.com)
Kinesio® Taping is emerging as the method of taping in rehabilitation facilities.  The 2008 Olympics became the stage for Kinesio® Tape, where you witnessed many athletes performing at a high level with the help of Kinesio® Taping.  Unlike athletic tape, Kinesio® Tape does not restrict movement.  One can participate in activity using full functional ROM without compromising normal joint mechanics and still reap the benefits from the tape.
Kinesio® Tape is an elastic, latex free tape that mimics the skin.  It is easy to apply, lasts 3-5 days, and can be used by all ages and for most diagnoses.  It is designed to help enhance tissue performance, stimulate the neuromuscular system, reduce pain, improve lymphatic flow and circulation, and promote injury recovery.  Kinesio® Taping can be used at all phases of rehabilitation (i.e. Prevention, Acute, Subacute, and Chronic).
